The Rules and the Strike System
Eaglerforum includes a Strike System that allows moderators to apply strikes on a user's account for broken rules, and automatically suspend that user's account for a certain amount of time if a specific number of strikes are received.
Strikes Received = Length of Suspension
2 strikes = 1 day
4 strikes = 7 days
6 strikes = 30 days
8 strikes = Permanent
How are Strikes calculated?
The following offences will result in strikes:
The moderators can only moderate content in English. Any content not in English will receive 1 strike.
Posting off-topic content (anything not directly related to Eaglercraft or this forum) without using the Off-Topic tag will result in 1 strike.
Posting off-topic comments (not related to the original post) will result in 1 strike.
Posting inappropriate content (NSFW/NSFL, such as sexual content or gore) will result in 4 strikes.
Absolutely no doxxing is allowed. You will recieve 6 strikes EACH offense.
Using an inappropriate username will result in 1 strike. In most cases, your username will be reset to a generic username.
Threatening anyone with physical harm, whether it be another user or yourself, will result in 4 strikes.
Pinging anyone for no reason will result in 1 strike the second time onward. Pinging bacon is an automatic 1 day suspension.
Creating an alternate account to evade a suspension (when another user decides to hide your posts from themselves) will result in 2 strikes.
Excessive cursing will result in 1 strike. Cursing is generally discouraged on the forum, but it is allowed, provided it will probably make you look bad among other users.
Creating an alternate account to evade a temporary ban will result in 4 strikes.
Impersonating anyone on the forum or misrepresenting who you are will result in 4 strikes.
Talking about controversial or politically charged discussions that are not in a private discussion usually results in 1 strike, although more can be applied depending on the severity of the incident.
Creating an alternate account to evade a permanent ban will result in 8 strikes and may result in your IP address getting blocked as a whole. Either one of these will result in the alt account being deleted.
Bullying ANYONE, in public or in private discussions if the victim chooses to report it, will result in 2 strikes.
The definition of bullying can be found here: https://www.stopbullying.gov/bullying/what-is-bullying
Hate speech, such as racism or sexism, will result in 4 strikes.
This rule applies only to Neon Chat, but inviting people to a chat without their consent will result in 1 strike the 2rd time onward. This does not apply to channels made by administrators.
Slurs, regardless of whether or not it's socially acceptable for you to use them, will result in 1 strike.
Spamming will result in 1 strike. Spamming includes:
Posting the same gifs/images repeatedly.
Repeatedly posting about the same topic.
Posting gibberish.
Posting content in 2 or more posts that can just fit in one post.
Spreading false information or rumors will result in 2 strikes.
This also includes point farming.
Posting links with malicious intent, such as IP grabbers, will result in 3 strikes.
Reporting or flagging someone for no reason will result in 1 strike the second time onward.
Publicly asking for another user to be banned will result in 1 strike.
Point farming is not allowed. Do not point farm in private discussions or DMs. You will get 2 strikes for doing this.
Distributing hacks or exploits is not allowed on the forum. This will result in 2 strikes if caught, and oh boy, you will be caught. This forum isn't a place to give people malicious exploits and hacks.
The rules are not limited to what is listed here. Moderators and administrators are allowed to apply strikes onto your account at any time for any reason, but keep in mind that you are allowed to peacefully debate any strikes. However, you must keep any and all debates in Private Discussions, (unless the debate is a simple one), or your account will receive 2 strikes. When in doubt, ask a staff member or don't post it.
Staff members have a special duty to keep the forum free from rule breaking content. But you also have a responsibility to report inappropriate content and help the staff team out. You will not be punished for flagging content in good faith, even if they are simply incorrect.
